Soon-to-be married Brendan and Natalie are each others' respective Bonnie and Clyde. Fred and Ginger (although Brendan doesn't dance). Dezi and Lucy. Kramer and Newman. We've been passionate......about photography......since our first date, and for years before we knew each other. After our first date, we decided to take our cameras on a field trip and, after dinner, Natalie let Brendan take her to a 'really cool spot to photograph' - which happened to be in Maine.
Way to cross state lines with a virtual stranger at 10pm, Nat. Good thinking.
But this is telling of their style. They're risk-takers.
And they'll go wherever the road takes them to get the shot that everyone wants. The shot that YOU want.
Brendan is the right-brained portion of the Symbol experience. He loves order, algebra and gadgets. He's organized, in the moment and real polite. Sounds like a real fireball, doesn't he? But it's this rational, patient approach that comes through and keeps grooms at ease, gives brides a moment to breathe and compels unhappy kids that are being forced to pose, to smile. He is blessed with behaving in the 'here and now' and keeps our clients rooted in the moment, never rushing them through when there's more beauty to enjoy and emotions to be expressed. It is this patience and internal structure that allows the 'must have' shots to look natural, relaxed and never forced or uncomfortable. He is the method behind...
... Natalie's madness. It is her opinion that numbers and letters, like in algebra, should never mix. She believes that the moments that you want to remember are the ones that you can't prepare for - and works to be a part of those moments in her clients lives. She's thinking ahead to the tears in your mom's eyes as your dad gives the toast, the delight that will appear on your son's face when his toes touch the cold water at the beach photo session, the way the light from the setting sun will stream in through the windows and spotlight you both for your first dance. She works fast, thinks fast, talks fast and is quick to make her clients smile, laugh and appreciate the small details.
