Meet the maestros behind the cameras . . .
Brendan Stewart was passionate about photography long before Symbol Photography was formed. Early on in his career, Brendan was awarded many accolades by the City of Boston and his peers, which landed his works in the pages of the Boston Globe, Improper Bostonian, and other publications. Since then, the combined talents of Symbol Photography's cutting-edge engagement and wedding photographers have been featured in Boston Magazine, Boston Bride, South Asian Bride, and other high-profile wedding publications.
"Brendan is the character of Symbol Photography." With an eye for holistic fashion, and a masterful skill for transforming traditional poses and settings into modern works of art, never will you say, "I love that photograph, but I hate the background." This is one of the most difficult skills for a modern photographer to learn, but Brendan makes it look effortless.
"What a privilege it is to be invited to photograph one of the most important days in a couple's life. We owe it to our clients to deliver the best of our experience, skills, and talents." - Brendan Stewart
Thuy (pronounced: Twee) is an ingeniously self-taught photographer, who was behind the camera long before she added a few Emerson College photography classes to her skill set. A self-proclaimed nerd who loves her Adobe Creative Suite, Thuy started out in graphic design as a creative outlet, but her natural talent for wedding photography eventually led her to us. It's all history from there - she's been photographing engagement and wedding events for 3 years now, and recalls fond memories from each and every one.
Thuy's style is best described as structured, yet candid. Organic, yet all-encompassing. Her all around laid-back personality lends itself to calming the nerves of the occasional jittery bride.
"My favorite photographs are the ones that challenged me most as a person and second as a photographer." In her spare time, you can find Thuy applying her creative talents to arts & crafts and interior decorating.
Renu (pronounced: Ray-New) is our brilliantly talented album designer. Renu has a long background in graphic design, and indulges herself in arts and crafts during her spare time. Since taking over our album design, she's helped streamline Symbol Photography's album creation process in a way we never thought possible.
Thanks to Renu, we're able to guarantee some of the fastest album turnaround times available throughout the Boston wedding photography business.

Symbol Photography has a sprawling 1500 sq ft studio in the heart of downtown Boston. We do most of our indoor sessions here and host small events with under 20 guests.
