Intercontinental Wedding Bliss in Newport Rhode Island and the North Shore

During wedding season, photographers are like Chuck Norris.
- They don’t sleep, They wait.
- They wait for files to upload.
- They wait for photoshop to render.
- They wait for printers to turn over proofs.
- They wait for album production.
- They wait for the delivery man to bring dinner because they have no time to leave the studio and the photos.
We’re excited to say that we’re busy and despite the money spent on tipping the delivery man, we’re okay with the wait times. Each step in the process brings us closer to doing our own type of delivery –
our clients photos, to them.
Most recently, it feels as though we’ve been traveling the world – all from the comfort of home. Being invited to be a part of two weddings that are steeped in such ceremony – one Indian and one Nigerian – is such a special, exciting experience. The ethnic tradition, the color, the words that are spoken are all so different from traditional, American weddings and although equally beautiful, they are entirely different. And we couldn’t be happier about it. All of the colors and cultures of life are to be appreciated.
From Mehindi to Garba to Grah Shanti to the official ceremony, we had a front row seat for it all. There is such pure joy and celebration and every word spoken, every move made, every gift exchanged, is recognized as being the most meaningful of their life.

…and from Nigeria, to Newport, RI and everywhere in between, a family crossed continents and an ocean (and a state line) to celebrate the union of two people that have eyes for only each other. K & K’s wedding in Newport, RI had the Jamestown Bridge as a backdrop and the love, support and joy of their friends and family to surround them and reinforce this perfectly, magnificent union. The color, the traditional dress and the lovely honoring of their family roots from far away places. was the perfect accent to this day where two families become one.

What beautiful photos! I love the henna on that woman’s hands…. i’d love to do that sometime. Do you have a link to the person that drew it out by any chance?
Also, the last photo is simply divine. That dress is off the charts. Great job!

That little girls face just captivated me. Such a beautiful smile. And the henna is nice too, that must be time intensive.
