Konnie and Duc

There’s an old Irish saying that reads “It’s easy to halve the potato where there is love.”
If anyone knows the simplicity and frustrating wisdom that the heritage of few words and many drinks embodies, it’s me. Isn’t it terrible – and beautiful – that something as powerful and meaningful as love can be reduced to a mere tuber in the mind of the Irish?
But, in the case of Khounie and Duc, it was the first thing that came to mind – despite them having descended from a heritage that has much better food than I can claim for my own.
They were two individuals that clung to their great families, friends and professions. Two successful specimens, of their own volition. And then, they crossed each others path and life was never the same. What was his was hers and hers, his. They meshed families, cultures, pets, finances, furniture. Two people who, once, stood tall all alone, soon shared potatoes. And because Brendan and I are behind the cameras, playing silent partner in these unions, we could see the ecstatic, tasty release that splitting that ,otherwise, bland vegetable in half provided.

Another great location. That build looks like it’s out of a movie set. Pretty cool.
