We had quite the shoot this weekend. We were lucky enough to shoot alongside Frank Doorhof in one of his infamous workshops. Here are a few shots from that day.

We’re so pleased that clients are loving standouts! They can really be quite dramatic and elegant. Despite that fact that we still offer and have a deep affection for large wall prints to showcase your wedding photography, these certainly have a more contemporary feel to them. They’re much like something you’d expect to see in an art gallery. Have a look:

It’s refreshing to see industry peers and clients alike understanding that, despite all the savings opportunities that are available to you when planning your wedding, photography is not the place to cut corners. The reality is, the flowers and cake last the day, but the photos are the tangible memories that you’ll have that tell the story of one of your most important days – and those memories should never be skimped on.

In this industry, and with no one particular in mind, we’ve known several folks who truly believe that a ‘picture is a picture’ and genuinely have a difficult time understanding the value in quality photography for their wedding. Even before we began photographing weddings, we never quite understood how or why, out of all the areas a person can choose to explore cost savings, their photography would be the element they think can cut back on.

The reality is that, long after everyone forgets the food, the cake, the flowers and even the speeches or toasts there will be your photos, albums, even canvases for the walls – there will be your memories and the visual testimony to all of the happiness, the food, the speeches, the smiles, tears, the private moments and the way that you or your bride looked in that dress and it’s those photos that will be endure forever. And let’s even forget the present, let’s think of kids and grandkids. Imagine your children and grand-children pouring over those photos many, many years from now and having a beautiful testament to your wedding and the marriage that made their life possible.

We should have known from the start that anyone with the name ‘Burke’ is going to be Irish and have roots in Boston and despite having made their way out to the suburbs, this family is no different. The Burke’s: Breann, Lauren, Debbie, Jim and Ryan were the most fun family a photographer could hope to encounter. They took Monopoly to a whole new level. So serious was their playing, I began to wonder myself if there was actual money and real estate at stake. Those pictures are to come soon but, for now, here’s part of the session:
