Courtney and Andries had their ceremony at the beautiful St. John’s the Evangelist church in Canton. Beautiful church with amazing light coming through the stained glass windows.

They hired a classic Cadillac which i thought was one of the nicest classic cars I’ve seen. Don’t get me wrong, Rolls Royce’s are de rigueur. But the Cadillac really stood out. Lovely.

Lastly, but certainly not least… in addition to the great Flipside Band, they also hired a traditional Armenian band. A tribute to Courtney’s grandfather, whom apparently was a very famous Armenian musician. They were fantastic and really got the crowd going.

I’m glad to announce that i can report back some sage advice…

1. Never trust someone’s estimate of how long it will take to drive somewhere if they don’t own a car in the city.
2. Don’t trust your GPS, it’s a vile machine that only lies to you. Torture.

Needless to say we started 30 minutes later than we had planned. But it was worth it, the timing was perfect, we got the perfect sunset, perfect timing for less people in our backgrounds. (Not an easy thing to get in NYC). So it all worked out great. Enjoy the photos!

Eva and Keith are getting married at the Steiner Studio, Stage 6 in Brooklyn later this summer.

Even down to their wedding rings. They went to NYC and took a class on ring making and made their own wedding ring and wedding bands. And we aren’t talking about just molding metal into a band here. They did a mix of metals and really created something unique for each of them. Very impressive. (Ring shots to come during the wedding day.)

They scheduled their session with the blooming of trees/flowers in the city and were just fun and easy to work with. Very excited for the wedding and to see what else is up their sleeve!

A 1930 Ford Model A Roadster was provided to make this a period shoot. That and an old vintage decrepit location and now we are talking…

Ok that’s easy. Charlestown. I found some ships and some great city backdrops to satisfy both. What do you think? Did i do ok?

It takes an Architect to appreciate some of the backgrounds of my images. I scour this fine city at all times… It’s a sickness. And I’m fairly certain that both Dan, the architect and his soon to be wifey Caren both appreciated some of the backgrounds we got on their engagement session.

For this engagement session i went a bit more on the ‘creative’ side, always trying to capture something new. This one had lots of motion in the background. Enjoy!

High high heels, check.
10′ temperatures with 15-20MPH winds, check.
Unimaginably patient groom, check.

We had some things stacked in our favor and some things stacked against us. But Hilary and Justin really showed what troopers they truly are…

They braved the cold and the wind and really went the extra mile. We love clients that are invested in their photography as it pushes us even harder to deliver. We decided to do a partial day and night shoot and we are in love with the results. We hope you love them too! Enjoy!

Andrea is a photographers dream. She went totally retro with the sleeved gloves and bird cage veil, she even threw in a mink coat for good measure.

Freakin’ awesome. Their style and hiring Gracie Lou Events planners went a long way to ensuring their day was absolutely perfect. We had just over an hour with Andrea and Jared in Salem and couldn’t have asked for more… sunset, beautiful waterfront and fall color. We were in heaven.

Upon scouting, we found this really cool white wall and black signage which we felt spoke to the classy simplicity of Andrea’s attire and decided to take some shots there in addition to the waterfront. Salem is really underrated for photography. There are lots of cool things to capture in Salem. And the old architecture in the fall really provides us some great backdrops.

Andrea and Jared’s wedding ceremony took place at the Immaculate Conception Church of Salem. A beautiful church with lots of light and close to the Hawthorne Hotel. And they held their reception at the Hawthorne Hotel. The Hawthorne was very nicely decorated by Elizabeth at Gracie Lou Events and it shows in the photos.

Lisa was originally from Massachusetts but moved to Texas and then Atlanta to be with Logan. Logan is a real Texan as were most of his groomsmen and we took every opportunity to rib each other on our respective accents.

Having this Texan influence, you knew nothing would be overlooked. We had a couple of hours to take them into Boston (Not bad considering their wedding was in Nahant!) and got some great photographs.

Lisa and Logan held their ceremony in Lynn and the Ocean View in Nahant. The Ocean View, besides being great for being near the Ocean is also pretty cool because they have overgrown cow grass and a tiny rope bridge with wooden planks. Pretty neat.

We love clients like this, give us a minimum of an hour and we promise you some amazing photographs that you will cherish for a lifetime! Luckily with Valerie and Erik, we had two hours and we were in the heart of the city. So it wasn’t hard for us to get some great shots in and around Faneuil Hall.

Valerie and Erik had their ceremony and reception at the Millennium Hotel in downtown Boston. It was a semi-traditional Jewish ceremony with an awesome home-made chuppah, made of what appeared to be birch tree trunks and was just awesome.

We love shooting at the Millennium Hotel, it’s a great location and also very challenging for any photographer as the glass ceilings are difficult to shoot against. But as you can see in the photos, we make it work.

We oftentimes ‘click’ with our clients. Sometimes it blooms over time, and more often than not it happens automatically. This is one of those automatic cases…

I should have known after getting a speeding ticket during their engagement session that i’d end up walking away with stories everytime we were around these two. (Disclaimer: Symbol Photography are completely safe drivers)

After photographing their engagement party, engagement session and then wedding, you get to know couples fairly well. And over so many days, it’s amazing and sometimes awe-inspiring to get to peer into peoples lives and the dynamics of their families and friends. Vimi and Prabhod were an awesome couple to work with and their wedding was very festive and colorful, much like they are.

For the first time in Symbol Photography history, i couldn’t keep up with the client. Embarrassing? Yes.

But it was all in good fun, we got the photographs we set out to take and the stars aligned. Hopefully you all agree. Enjoy!

We love weddings at the Boston Seaport Hotel. Especially Indian weddings! Well, half ones are ok too. What a great blend of traditions and fun. I give Megan all the credit in the world. She and Sree both went to learn how to dance Indian dances, she learned the culture and learned all sorts of nuances that came in handy the day of her wedding.

I’ll try not to babble on with these two, let’s let the photos do the talking!

Patrick and Kevin were absolutely awesome to work with. They have a unique style and we were honored to be present in such an purely happy day for everyone involved. It was one of those weddings where you could just feel the love in a family atmosphere.

Their wedding was held at the Copley Westin Hotel. It provided us a great launching pad for taking some varied photos outside.

Before we had to shoot at a semi-rival baseball park. We recently got that chance at Wrigley field in Chicago. Nima and Sagar were very fun to work with despite the rainy day. They even got their names up on the park’s billboard. Awesome!
