Every once in a while you get a couple like Senada and Marc….

Senada and Marc are a dream couple… Firstly, they understand what it takes to get the good shots in photography and secondly they are willing to go the extra mile to get it. We’ve had quite the experience with them both. Starting with the NYC Engagement, Boston Engagement, Newport Rehearsal and Newport Wedding. I always say i love Indian weddings because you really get to know clients over 3-4 days. And it was a similar experience with Senada and Marc.

Their rehearsal dinner was at the 41 North, a trendy and classy spot on the famous Thames Street. I felt like I was at some hot spot in Malibu while shooting at 41 North. And their wedding was at the beautiful Castle Hill, in Newport RI. We had an absolute blast shooting all sessions and hopefully that shows in the photography. Enjoy!

As Boston Wedding and Portrait Photographers, you acquire a visual record of your work over the lifetime of your career.

And while we don’t yet have a lifetime worth of photos, we are certainly working to that end… And along those lines, occasionally you surprise yourself with a technically fantastic photograph. While it may not be one of the ’stand out’ photos people see sometimes on blogs, we still feel it’s worthy of mentioning here – though nary a human, with the exception of a fellow photographer, may appreciate.

That said…in Boston Wedding Photography, it’s almost a guarantee that you’ll need to prepare differently for locations in the Winter vs. other seasons. For example, the sun goes down at 4:45pm and this can sometimes be a severe limitation for those looking to do fun, group shots outside, especially if you have an evening wedding.

We wedding photographers needs to be creative during these times to ensure we are delivering the quality photography clients expect. We have a few photos to share and do our best to share a short explanation on why these photos are interesting, from a technical point of view.

This photo is interesting, as we knew the Colonnade might become a bit stale after a few rounds of shots and since we only had the evening light, we wanted to explore a location nearby and decided to use the Prudential Mall instead. We scouted a few locations and found this one, nice area with a single light shining down. We really liked the clean curved lines in the background and how the light only lit the couple:

Here was another lucky find this time of year – large Christmas ornaments that we thought would make for a festive backdrop and the couple loved it..

Lastly, this is the really technical photo we were speaking of. We did a long exposure on this one, used a remotely triggered flash inside the Boston Colonnade Smart Car. We love the playful aspect of the Smart Car and decided that night or day, we were going to find a way to use this in our shot. You can see the cars in the background moving while we dragged the shutter. The flash inside the car had time to fully burn in the scene inside the car as well. Had we not used flash here, it would have been too dark and you wouldn’t see their faces. We just love this photo…

Truly!
What’s more lovely than being in lush private gardens that feel so far removed from the city and in 15-20 minutes, be in Downtown? The diversity is so special – you can hear Italian in one area, sip authentic Irish Whiskey in another, smell Creole cooking in a third and taste Chinese home-cooking, all within 15 minutes of each other…our region helps to make our photo experiences so rewarding. City to Suburbs, Mountains to Shoreline…we have the best of so many worlds.

So, with that proclamation out of the way…
We took Walter and Karama around different parts of the city. They were fun, classy and completely open to our ideas for them. Their love is a personal, private thing that they shared with one another, and for our cameras.

We also had Kim and Sam around a few different parts of the city – energetic, sassy and ready to begin their married life, together. What a great day…

You can’t tell here in the photo, but we had Sam in front of a Piano. We asked him to give us his best Ray Charles and this is what we got…

Lovely hours spent with Angel and Lisa on their wedding day resulted in beautiful, unique photos that we’re so pleased to share with you. Lisa was stunning, Angel was smooth and this couple made the photography easy. They had wonderful venues with so much character and a wedding party that oozed with charm and personality. An ideal day for a couple that are clearly, very much in love.

We had all of the time we needed that morning and despite it being a bit cool, she was ready! Gina-Marie was lovely & so excited and we wanted her photos to be perfect. This lady had a vision, knew what she wanted and trusted us to capture it. And lucky us – she gave us enough time for that, before her big day began.

Boston Wedding on the Esplanade – Liam & Roshni

Where to begin?! Liam and Roshni were quite fun and very easy-going clients, considering they were about to be married. All Boston Wedding Photographers should be so lucky.

We’ve truly enjoyed working with all of our clients, but every so often, you have an opportunity to both create what a client is hoping for and also be given the time to give creative direction and capture the photos you were envisioning for them, as well. It was just the 4 of us, so it was a luxury to have their full attention.

This first one is a new processing technique we’re testing. If anyone has any likes/dislikes, please let us know. It looks a little flat, but it’s interesting in a grainy, weathered-looking way.
