Congratultions, it's time to start planning your wedding and settling in on all the little details. Finding the right photographer can be a daunting task, at Symbol Photography we realize this and are proactive in our approach to help you find the best photographer for your wedding.

What you are sure of is that your wedding and your wedding photography should be unique, sensationally original and a perfect representation of you, as a couple.

And that is exactly what we want for you, too, even if all that you truly want from your wedding day is to hear the words 'I Do' out of his or her mouth. This day, with this person, is a 'once-in-a-lifetime' thing and you'll get just one chance to choose the right photographer to be there to capture your day in the way that tells the story of you and the step that you're taking, together. We are Boston Wedding Photographers who illustrate your commitment and celebration in an artistic, emotional and joyful way. The planning is overwhelming and because we understand, we have organized a few thoughts, some things to consider. We are pretty open and honest and have heard time and time again from clients that they love our 'tell-all' approach.

WHAT GOES INTO MY EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY?

The simplistic vision that many people have about photography is that we show-up, look around, are spontaneously overwhelmed with cutting-edge, outrageous and deeply impactful, meaningful ideas for your photos, begin photographing, leave at the end of the day, pull them off the cameras, upload them to a disk and a gallery and wait for the praise and applause. That's it's - all done!

Oh, if only. Photography, especially wedding photography, is a labor of love. You have to love what you do and just generally love people who are in love to beautifully capture the spirit of the commitment and the people that are there, in support.

After our detailed, initial consultation, we stay involved and engaged with you and with your planning. We check-in to see how details are coming together & if there are any changes that have been made that we may need to consider for your photography, or if you're coming up short anywhere. Over the years, photographing engagement & wedding photography in Boston and New England, we have made contacts and built relationships with all types of people in this business. We love any opportunities to help you out - regardless of whether it's pertinent to your wedding photography or not. The more relaxed you are on your wedding day, the more it will show in your images, so we will help however we can to help guarantee that calmness comes through.

The eve of your wedding day, while you're preparing, rehearsing, reviewing...so are we. We are re-checking our gear and our back-ups to ensure that everything is in working order and ready to go. Batteries are being charged, memory cards are being cleared, flashes and studio lights are being tested and packed, and we are talking. Always talking. Ideas. Perspectives. Angles. Locations. Bad weather 'plan B's.' We are picking each other's brains and finalizing the plans we have for your day. We are just as detail-oriented and passionate about your day as you are.

The day of your wedding, we scout locations about an hour before anyone expects us to arrive to get a 'day-of' feel for your location, lighting, details and decor, so that no time is wasted when it is time to meet you and start the day.

We photograph, non-stop, in the most unobtrusive way possible in order to capture the most spontaneous, defining moments of your day.

We are in the moment with you, all-day long. We photograph from different perspectives, points of view. We always photograph together and the photos that we are taking are created from both a female and a male vantage point. It tells the whole story, in a lovely, impacting and gender-neutral way, so that what we deliver is something everyone will love.

We depart your wedding, but that does not mean we are finished with your wedding. Once we return to the studio, we back-up all of your photos - and then back-up the back-ups. Only then is our day over.

Within a week of your wedding, we begin working on your wedding photos and from start to finish, this can take anywhere from 10-40 hours, depending on how much time we spent with you on your wedding day. Remember, we process each photo individually - each is its own work of art and we would not be turning it over if we didn't believe that. We never just 'tweak', 'color-correct', 'enhance' or batch-process your photos. There is so much more that goes into making a beautiful photo into exactly what you want to see and we work hard to improve upon perfection and, in some cases, draw out the beauty in imperfection.

Once complete, your photos will be placed in your password protected, online gallery. You can begin sharing with friends and family and they can begin purchasing, admiring and just simply re-living the fantastic day you had.

Your photos will be turned over to you, and we will be in touch with you to begin work on your album.†

We will deliver products and fulfill any orders that may have been a part of your package or that you have ordered.

Our relationship never really ends, though. After all, we are flattered that we were invited to spend your wedding day with you. It is very likely that we were with you that day more than your families or parents were, and that is such a special compliment to the work that we do. We are humbled! We want our clients to understand that because we are so attached to your day and our work, we want the relationship to continue.

First and foremost, it isour post-processing. We dedicate a tremendous amount of time to looking at each and every photo as its own piece of fine-art. We go above and beyond just re-touching or color correction - we conjure all that is beautiful about your photos and highlight each detail. Secondly, we deliver all of the useable images from your day to you. We don not just process the images that you agree to buy. You put your trust and the creative responsibility of your wedding images in our hands and we strive to live up to that trust.

Two primary, professional photographers. Not one photographer and another photographer whose style you're not familiar with. We always use two primary photographers, with varying styles. Our styles differ, but completely compliment the other and this ultimately results in better quality photos with a more interesting, unique and creative perspective to your wedding photography.

You always get Brendan. Many studios have figureheads that you meet with initially and that only books contracts. Then, in turn, they farm out the work to other photographers that you only are introduced to on the day of your wedding and whose work and quality cannot be guaranteed. When you meet with us, you can be sure that it is us you are going to work with. Our styles. Our perspectives. Our personalities.

We are boutique-like and we do all the work ourselves. The consultations. The photography. The back-ups. The post-processing. The galleries. The albums. We love, love, love what we do and we want to be sure our influence comes across in all parts, from start to finish.

We deliver our photos fast. Even for our most detailed, time-intensive package, our clients have their photos back in eight weeks time. Quality never suffers - we just see our friends less frequently during wedding season. We are genuinely as excited to see your photos as you are, so we work tirelessly to reap the reward.
